Back to normal...

Sigh... the in-laws have left... They flew out at 6am this morning, so we were all packed into the car, kids bundled up, at 3.30am for our trip to the Wellington airport.
I have mixed feelings about their leaving. Sad that after 2 weeks with them, the kids were very well entertained; happy, in the sigh of relief kind of way, that our lives can go back to normal routine again. Daddy K's mid-term break ends today, then it's back to the grind again. This also means that we're half-way through our stay here in NZ.
We had a beautiful 2 weeks. The first just showing them around Wellington. Sightseeing, shopping, just doing the tourist thing. The second week, we took a road trip. We went up to the ski slopes of Mt Ruapehu to Whakapapa Village, spent 2 nights in Turangi, then went and spent 2 nights by Lake Taupo at Acacia Bay. The last night was spent in Napier, before driving back to Upper Hutt. It was truly an amazing journey, time spent with the family, and more so for me with the in-laws. I haven't really had so much close contact time with them for such an extended amount of time. It was good bonding, especially with the FIL. Will just show some of the pics here. will try to get them on FB soon.
It started snowing as we were about to leave!
